Among the most fascinating albums of the Heavy Metal history definitively is “Strong Arm Of The Law”, the third album of England’s heroes SAXON. Here everything fits. Rough, driving songs, gripping melodies, raw, but powerful production, strong cover artworkÂ…The opener of the album, “Heavy Metal Thunder”, I really do not have to comment anymore, pure Heavy Metal! On with “To Hell And Back Again”, already covered by PARAGON, a smasher of extra class, truly putting the pedal to the metal, divine piece! The following title track is a mid tempo hymn how every real Metaller knows and loves it from SAXON: killer riffs and brilliant melodies, who does not know this song may not call himself Heavy Metal fan!!!
In a similar vein as “To Hell And Back” “Taking Your Chances” is letting go, just the chorus is not as distinct, but the song itself fully hits the twelve. The following “20,000 Ft” does not leave any room for a breather, a great neck breaker. With “Hungry Years” SAXON then get slower, but not less heavy. The song grooves like hell! Then with “Sixth Form Girls” the lads pick up speed again, even though it is lacking the really big choirs, the song rocks and rolls until the end. And at the end the guys serve us a full volley in “Dallas 1pm”, you just have to know this driving rocker with its short, calm middle part and the sharp guitar solos!!!
